A "Eurotent" – is a conventional notion that means a truck with a semi-trailer that has dimensions similar to those specified herewith. The width of a eurotruck (which is another name for eurotent), permits 2 European pallets, each 120 centimeters long, to be stowed side by side.
 
There is a big quantity of semi-trailer modifications, among which there are semi-trailers with the volume of 76-78 cubic meters of a smaller length (12,5-13 m) and semi-trailers of a standard and bigger length, width and height (13,6 - 15 m; 2,5 m; 2,7 m).

Class of 10t trucks with a tented body includes various trucks of home and foreign manufacture. This class can be subdivided into several following subclasses:

• Trucks with a payload up to 5 tons with a volume of truck body next to the volume of a 10t truck (36 cub.m)
• Trucks with a payload up to 10 tons with a volume of truck body up to 56 cubic meters.
• Trucks with a payload up to 15 tons with a voluminous (50-60 cubic meters) and long (up to 8 meters) bodies.  

Class of 10t trucks with isothermal body includes different trucks of home and foreign manufacture. This class may be subdivided into the following subclasses:

• Trucks with a payload up to 5 tons with the volume of a body next to that of a 10t truck (36 cubic meters).
• Trucks with a payload up to 10 tons with the volume of a body up to 56 cubic meters.
• Trucks with a payload up to 15 tons with voluminous (50-60 cubic meters) and long (up to 8 meters) bodies.   

The truck provided with a 20ft maritime container by its performance characteristics is close to that of 10t truck with either tented or isothermal body.

 
There are several types of 20ft maritime containers. The most commonly used kinds are as follows:  

• Standard 20ft container.
• 20ft thermo container (analogy to an isothermal truck)
• 20ft reefer container (an isothermal truck with inbuilt cooling apparatus)
• 20ft container with a tent roof
• 20ft flat fixed ends

The truck provided with a 40ft maritime container by its performance characteristics is close to that of a 20t truck with either tented or isothermal body.

An isothermal semitrailer with the volume of 82 cubic meters has performance characteristics similar to those of isothermal trucks of a smaller size. There is a big variety of semitrailer modifications (for a detailed review see catalogue of technical specifications of the trucks), and the most commonly used are as follows:

Semitrailers with the volume of 76-78 cubic meters- have a smaller length (12,5 – 13m) and semitrailers with standard and a bigger length, width and height (13,6 m, 2,5 m, 2,7 m).  
 
The basic performance characteristics of semitrailer type are the volume and permissible quantity of pallets.  
 
Suspensions of semitrailers can be either spring or pneumatic. Pneumatic suspension guarantees smooth ride comfort of the roadtrain, thus ensuring security of a fragile cargo.  
The characteristic property of a load box of “Thermo truck” type is the ability to keep the temperature of loading within a protracted period of time (10-20 hours) on condition the exterior temperature ranges from -10⁰C to +20⁰C.

Refrigerated semitrailer is a cargo-carrying semitrailer the inside temperature of which can change from sub-zero (- 7-12С) to above-zero (0- +10С) irrespective of external temperature. Such property of a load box is ensured by the self-contained cooling apparatus. Modern cooling apparatuses have different security levels from emergency temperature changes, which ensure the cargo security. The cooling systems can be fitted with a property of recording the temperature conditions on special “blocks”. The main application of these semitrailers is transportation of perishable freight or cargoes requiring special temperature conditions.
